Traveling to Barbados

See the source image          I have been planning this trip for an exceptionally long time now. Thankfully, my job has approved my vocational time and I can finally turn my dreams into reality.  I will also be bringing my best friend on this trip to help split the cost between us. To get to Barbados, I will need both My passport and a valid return ticket. Traveling with your Identification is also always recommended because you can never know what will happen and if anything does happen, they will be able to identify who you are.


   Image result for barbados airport          After we touch down at the airport, we are going to catch a taxi because we must check into our Air bnb we could not find a hotel with a reasonable price that fit into our budget. Thankfully, this Air bnb  provides  us breakfast, lunch, and dinner so it helps us save more money so we can enjoy activities and the beautiful island. My cousin decided that we should not rent a car that she would be willing to drive us around the island as if she is our tour guide. That was extremely helpful of her because driving in Barbados is a little bit tricky because you drive on the opposite side of the road and neither of us felt comfortable driving so in the end it worked out simply fine. 


See the source image         While staying in Barbados I would like to visit their beautiful beaches such as the silver sands or even the Miami beach that is also located in Christ church. The beaches in Barbados are so beautiful and clear that you can look down and see your feet on the sand. Another place that I would like to visit is Oistens Friday night fish fry this is a community event, so it is completely free. The community comes together and have an enjoyable time by eating and listening to music I think this would be a very enjoyable experience where I could experience the culture and the people firsthand. Another place that I would like to go is snorkeling I also got my hands on a tour that would take me to multiple popular sites, and it also provides lunch and a safari at the end.

           On the days that I am not exploring the island I would really like to visit my family and take pictures with the and just have long talks about everything that I have missed. I have heard such wonderful things about Barbados and what it is like, but I have never experienced them firsthand. Because my family had already moved and settled into the states by the time I was born. My late Grandmother always planned to bring me but we never got the chance to experience it together so I would most definitely want to get to know the island and the culture for her and for myself. I feel as if Barbados is a part of my identity that I just have not fully discovered yet. The total cost of my budget friendly trip should cost me around 1,165 (USD) or (2,327.79 BBD).

  My family is from Barbados, but I was born in the United States my cultural identity concludes of being a west Indian and an American. The meaning of cultural identity is a small portion of a person self-conception and self-perception. Cultural identity connects people to a specific group this group can be anything such as ethnicity, religion, gender, communities.   leaving Barbados would have an influence on a person's cultural identity as a native Bajan if they moved to the United States. Barbados is a small island located in the southern eastern part of the Caribbean Sea. Barbados was conquered by the English in the late 17th centry, but they were not the first to concours the island the Arawak and the Carib were the first. Being under British rule for so long Barbados government is based off England's government. Barbados is also the oldest counting parliamentary democracy besides England.
