My family is from Barbados, but I was born in the United States my cultural identity concludes of being a west Indian and an American. Cultural identity connects people to a specific group this group can be anything such as ethnicity, religion, gender, communities. leaving Barbados would have an influence on a person's cultural identity as a native Bajan if they moved to the United States. Barbados is a small island located in the southern eastern part of the Caribbean Sea. Barbados was conquered by the English in the late 17th centry, but they were not the first to concours the island the Arawak and the Carib were the first. Being under British rule for so long Barbados government is based off England's government. Barbados is also the oldest counting parliamentary democracy besides England.
